This Privacy Policy governs the use of the mobile application Stats (herein referred to as "App").

App Branding

Please note that while the App is listed on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store as Stats, it may appear on your mobile device’s home screen and within the application interface under the shortened name "Stats".

Ownership

The App and the website www.https://studio--mystats-fd847.us-central1.hosted.app/ are owned and operated by Van Simeon.

Purpose

This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information across both the Stats brand and the Stats mobile interface.

2. Privacy Policy

2.1 Information We Collect

We collect information to provide a seamless financial tracking experience. By using the app, you consent to the collection of:

  • Account Identity: Username, email address (via Google OAuth or manual sign-up), and profile image.
  • Contact Information: Phone number, if you choose to provide it for notifications or recovery.
  • Financial Data (via Plaid): We use Plaid to link your bank accounts. We do not store your bank login credentials. Plaid provides read-only data including transaction history, balances, and account names.
  • User-Generated Content: Manual transaction entries (amount, description, category, date), notes, to-do list statuses, recurring transaction schedules, and other content you create within the app.
  • File Uploads: Images or documents (receipts/records) you upload to specific transactions.
  • Biometric Data: If enabled, FaceID/TouchID is handled by your device's secure enclave. We never access or store raw biometric data.
  • Usage & Diagnostic Data: To improve app performance and security, we collect crash logs, diagnostics, app interactions, and in-app search history.
  • Device & Web Activity: We collect information regarding installed apps and web browsing history for security verification and service optimization.
  • Recurring & Reminder Data: Information regarding transaction frequency and set reminders for to-do list features.

2.2 How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

  • Categorize and track your income and expenses.
  • Manage your financial to-do list and send reminders.
  • Secure your account, verify your identity, and improve app stability via diagnostics.

2.3 Data Deletion & Account Closure

You have full control over your data. To delete your information:

  1. Tap the Profile Icon.
  2. Tap "Delete Account or Data" at the bottom of the profile pop-up.
  3. Select your preferred option:
    • Delete Data: Wipes records (transaction history, uploaded files, and linked Plaid accounts) while keeping your profile active.
    • Delete Account: Removes your entire profile, including login credentials and all associated financial records.
  4. Follow the prompts to Confirm your choice.

Warning: Once you confirm deletion, the process takes place immediately and is irreversible. All data will be purged from our active servers and cannot be recovered by our support team.

3. Terms of Service

3.1 Use of Third-Party Services (Plaid)

Our app utilizes Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid") to retrieve financial information. By using this integration, you grant the app and Plaid the authority to access and transmit your personal and financial information from your financial institution. We are not responsible for the uptime, security, or accuracy of Plaid's services.

3.2 Accuracy & Liability

  • No Professional Advice: This app is a tracking and productivity tool. It does not provide professional financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
  • Data Latency: Transactions imported from banks may be delayed due to processing times between your bank and Plaid.
  • User Responsibility: You are responsible for the accuracy of manual entries and ensuring uploaded files do not contain malicious code.
  • Notifications: We are not responsible for late fees, missed payments, or financial penalties incurred if a reminder notification fails to deliver.
4. Children’s Privacy & Families Policy

This app is appropriate for all ages, so we are committed to the safety of children. To comply with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Google Play Families Policy, we implement the following:

  • Content Appropriateness: All content within the app is designed to be appropriate for a general audience, including children.
  • Advertising: If we are to display ads, we only display ads appropriate for children. All ads are served from Google Play certified ad networks or are self-served in compliance with age-appropriate guidelines.
  • Data Protection: For users identified as children, we do not collect personal information beyond what is strictly necessary for app operation, and we comply with all applicable legal protections.
5. Data Security Statement
  • Encryption: Data is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 at rest and TLS during transit.
  • File Storage: Uploaded records are stored in secure, encrypted cloud buckets.
  • Authentication: We use OAuth 2.0 for Google sign-ins and do not store raw passwords for manual accounts.
6. Onboarding Summary ("Simple" Version)
  • Your Data stays yours: We use your info to track your money, not to sell to third parties.
  • Banking Security: We use Plaid, so we never see or store your bank password. Data is encrypted and read-only.
  • Biometrics: FaceID or Fingerprint data stays on your phone. We just get a "thumbs up" to let you in.
  • Tracking, not Advice: We help you stay organized, but we aren't financial advisors. Always check your official bank statement before big moves.
  • You're in Control: Delete your data or account anytime via Profile > Delete Account or Data. Warning: This cannot be undone.
